Senegalese ministers visit P&OML’s UAE team

P&O Maritime Logistics’ UAE Ports business unit had the privilege of hosting a ministerial delegation from Senegal, on Thursday 4th March.

The delegation included His Excellency Dr. Cheikh Kante, Minister of State and Special Envoy to the President, His Excellency Alioune Ndoye, Minister of Fisheries and Maritime Economy and Alassane Diop from DP World Dakar. The visit was hosted by DP World UAE Region and the P&O Maritime Logistics team responsible for port services, at Jebel Ali and other UAE ports.

A walk around the site and boat tour on our VIP vessel, the ‘’P&O Barq’’ showcased the impressive capabilities, unique resources and infrastructure providing Marine Services. The delegation were also introduced to the personnel and assets providing services such as emergency response and navigational aid maintenance.

The visit continued onto the Operational Control Tower at Container Terminal 3 where the delegation was invited by Director of Marine and Senior Harbour Master, Captain Nasser Ali Sabt. An insightful presentation highlighted the unique history of the port since its creation. It also showcased the port’s cutting-edge technologies deployed in vessel traffic control across ports, pilot and tug simulation and remote operations of container terminal crane and RTGs.

DP World UAE and P&OML representatives expressed their willingness for future partnerships and extended their best wishes for the successful development of the new ‘Ndayane Port’ in Senegal.
